Job Summary:
The Pricing Manager will primarily assist operations to price new and existing business, ensure contract accuracy, and represent opportunities from an objective viewpoint. Additional accounting and financial analysis support for Final Mile Services also required as needed.

Job Description:

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Model pricing for new/existing business using design and cost inputs, aligning costs within rate structures
  • Identify improvements to pricing models and reduce risk
  • Maintain and update pricing models to ensure timely, complete and accurate data for costs are used
  • Communicate risks with design and/or rate structure to Operations for approval
  • Work with Operations, Sales, Design, and Client teams to prepare rates for customers
  • Represent objective, financial viewpoint internally to Operations and Sales
  • Participate in prospective and existing customer meetings on behalf of JB Hunt as needed
  • Provide tools and data to enable effective customer support for Sales and Client teams
  • Review contracts and schedules to ensure accuracy of rates and rate definitions
  • Lead pricing training for cross-functional groups (Leaders 201, Sales and Client teams)
  • Analyze existing rate structures to ensure accuracy of costs and charges
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions
  • Analyze P&L statements to explain historical economic performance and predict future performance
  • Assist with short-term and long-term planning (next-period forecasting, annual budgeting, strategic planning)
  • Ad hoc reporting and projects as specified by Finance Director

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is required, preferably with emphasis in Accounting, Finance, Economics or quantitative fields such as Engineering, Mathematics, or Information Systems.  MBA or CPA is preferred.  Three years of related work experience required, five to ten years preferred.  Customer-facing or sales experience preferred.  Ideally, the individual would have direct experience in Final Mile or DCS business segment.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and Access.  VBA skills preferred
  • Financial modeling: NPV, EVA, WACC, CAPM, ROI, Black-Scholes
  • Data visualization: QlikView, Tableau, or MS PowerBI a plus
  • Knowledge of SQL (DB2, T-SQL) and data management tools (QMF, SQL Server, TOAD) a plus

Education:
Bachelors: Economics, Bachelors: Mathematics, Bachelors: Transportation Logistics, GED (Required), High School (Required)
