Job Summary:
Under general supervision, this position serves as a data steward and enabler for our critical data assets. The incumbent will be responsible for data architecture decisions, design and strategy.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities: •Provides direction and technical knowledge on policies, trends, issues, and tools to the organization.
•Conducts data modeling training for the applications team.
•Designs, modifies and maintains highly complex system level conceptual, logical, and physical transactional and dimensional data models based on Business Requirement Documents (BRDs).
•Reviews requirements and BRDs to assign work to team members.
•Provides Data Definition Language (DDL) for physical database implementation.
•Provides SQL support for query optimization reviews as well as sample queries with data for model validation.
•Provides data analysis and technical support for highly complex query optimization and database proficiency.
•Mentors junior team members and acts as a trusted resource for the team and other E&T departments.
•Reviews and signs off on data models created by junior team members.
•Educates and influences the business in the use and need for data.
•Ensure business information aligns with the enterprise data placement strategy.
•Ensure applications use the most cost effective data architecture.
•Eliminate data silos and redundant data.
•Define best practices and guidelines for specific database technology.
•Assist application teams on designing their data flow.
•Collaborate with leadership across multiple organizations to gain consensus on technologies and platforms.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field, or foreign equivalent, suitable combination of education, training and experience; plus 5 years of experience as a data modeler to include top-down modeling experience: Conceptual to Logical; Logical to Physical; experience with working with business partners to gather and document requirements, experience working with DBAs and developers to validate physical models; experience with ERwin or ER/Studio; OR Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, electronics Engineering, or a related field, or foreign equivalent, or suitable combination of education, training and experience; plus 3 years of experience as a data modeler to include top-down modeling experience: Conceptual to Logical; Logical to Physical; experience with working with business partners to gather and document requirements, experience working with DBAs and developers to validate physical models; experience with ERwin or ER/Studio.
Preferred Qualification: A solid understanding of Corporate Information Factory and/or Kimball data warehouse designs; Both would be ideal
Experience in agile development practice
Experience in NOSQL data modeling
Experience with Master Data Management
Experience with leading a team
Proficiency with Cloud and No-SQL technologies
Experience building enterprise data solutions
Experience tuning and optimizing SQL queries
Experience with data privacy solutions


Education:
Bachelors: Electrical Engineering (Required), Bachelors: Computer Engineering (Required), Bachelors: Computer and Information Science (Required)
