Job Summary:
Under routine supervision, this position is responsible for inspecting, evaluating, and reporting on inbound & outbound units to ensure they meet Federal guidelines, Company Safety and Operational requirements to operate safely and efficiently on the public highways. This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends in addition to overtime; it requires full-time attendance.  

Job Description:

Responsibilities:  

  • Perform unit inspections to ensure compliance with DOT and safe operating procedures. 

  • Prepare necessary paperwork for inspection lane. 

  • Stock all necessary parts. 

  • Assist drivers and co-workers as needed. 

  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned. 


Qualifications:

Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or GED; or 12-18 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of experience and education. 

  • Ability to make decisions in a timely and professional manner, plus analytical abilities, initiative and problem solving skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as: safety rules, operating procedures and manuals. 

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. 

  • Ability to perform basic math skills such as: addition, subtraction, units of measure, whole numbers, decimals, and fractions. 

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form. 

  • Valid Driver's License.
