Job Summary:
Under routine supervision, this position is responsible for assiting in maintaining the security, safety and well-being of all personnel, visitiors at corporate and/or remote premises. Under the direction of more seniored team members, the incumbent will also protect the company's assets relative to theft, assault, fire and other safety issues.  

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to security systems, technologies, operating standards and procedures; continually monitor existing security systems and technologies for possible security leaks or fraud.
  • Work with the shops and fleet managers to ensure all assets are issued or released properly.
  • Work with remote sites to ensure assets are documented appropriately upon arrival and departure; check equipment being assigned to drivers (TRKs, TRLs, Chassis).
  • Respond to medical events as needed • Provide assistance to employees and visitors who come to the security office.
  • Monitor remote sites via cameras and call boxes to identify and report any suspicious or out of place activity; communicate with internal and external personnel on the phone or through email to resolve any concerns/issues.
  • Maintain log of remote site issues, thefts, or lost/misplaced equipment while documenting all details of the event and remaining in communication with law enforcement as needed to provide appropriate information for reports.
  • Grant access to employees and visitors entering building, validate credentials upon arrival and make temporary/permanent badges as needed.
  • Follow procedures for various initiatives, including fire prevention, property patrol, traffic control and accident investigations.
  • Conduct security awareness programs; monitor and document actual and potential security breaches.
  • Conduct routine monitoring of facilities, campus buildings and/or parking lots in person or by video surveillance to identify and resolve any violations, issues, or concerns; report to management as appropriate.
  • Complete Incident Reports (Badge Incidents, Lost and Found, Security Patrols) by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interview witnesses and obtain signatures for statements given.
  • Assist with log of issues that arise with the trucks/trailers and passing information onto other departments that can further assist personnel as needed • Assist drivers with exiting the facilities and being able to react to issues and locate a solution without assistance.
  • Answer incoming calls of security concerns and identify next steps to address the concern or help direct to the best point of contact.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 1 year of security-related experience and/or training; ability to pass a background check
  • CPR Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in security, military and/or law enforcement.
  • Ability to communicate (written and verbal) effectively.
  • Ability to fulfill physical requirements of position.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism while dealing with difficult individuals.
  • Ability to make independent time-sensitive decisions.
  • Ability to work both individually and as a team.
  • Customer Service skills.
  • Experience in safety management.
  • Experience in the transportation industry.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interest in learning new technologies/software applications.
  • Knowledge of basic employee safety.
  • Proficient time management skills.
  • Surveillance skills.
  • Willingness to work night shifts.
