Job Summary:
Under general supervision, this position partners with business leaders execute HR strategies / offerings within their assigned business unit(s). The incumbent collaborates with HR Centers of Expertise and HR Operations to respond to routine business and/or employee needs. This role will own certain region(s) within a business unit/department as business needs dictate. Work as an agent to enhance our already high-performance, family-oriented workplace culture. The position will support their assigned business unit(s) as needed, with emphasis on talent acquisition, talent management and change management.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and analyze the HR needs of a designated client within a business unit including recommending programs, policies, and other HR initiatives/offerings to support the business (e.g., employee engagement, recruiting, retention or training)
  • Influence and support the culture, values and standards of J.B. Hunt to facilitate strategic or business unit goals
  • Improve manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems, evaluating potential solutions, implementing selected solutions, and coaching and counseling managers and employees in dealing with general employee issues, job-related performance and personal well-being
  • Conduct outplacement counseling and exit interviews
  • Conduct employee relations issue investigations; escalate to appropriate parties when warranted (e.g., Compliance, Legal)
  • Support the facilitation of the succession planning process for your designated business unit
  • Maintain good communication and a positive relationship with employees to promote employee satisfaction and ensure a positive working environment
  • Implement human resources policies and procedures; provide interpretation and guidance to managers and employees
  • Analyze human resource data and recommend solutions for improved employee engagement and satisfaction
  • Support efforts to drive human resources initiatives within the organization and act as a liaison to other human resources functions when necessary
  • Ensure organizational compliance with all HR related regulations, laws and guidelines
  • Consult with managers and HR staff regarding the job analysis, job development and competency management processes; contribute and verify content for defining jobs (responsibilities, qualifications, competencies, etc.) and career paths for the organization
  • Support the execution of the workforce planning strategy to support organizational development goals
  • Implement and consult on the performance management program, including goal setting, evaluations, calibration and feedback
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 1-3 years of experience in Human Resources or Customer Service.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Management, Communications, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or related field; 1 year of experience in Human Resources. HR Professional Certification - HRCI
  • HR Professional Certification - SHRM.
  • Ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment
  • Ability to analyze and interpret HR policies
  • Ability to be both flexible and adaptable
  • Ability to communicate effectively through all mediums
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and peers
  • Ability to handle confidential information and materials with discretion

  • Ability to train and coach others
  • Ability to understand and apply business acumen
  • Experience working in a customer service job
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations

  • Experience in Microsoft Programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Education:
GED (Required), High School (Required), Bachelors: Human Resources Management, Bachelors: Business Administration/Management, Bachelors: Communications Studies/Speech Communication and Rhetoric

Work Experience:
Human Resources, Customer Service/Account Manager

Certifications:
Professional In Human Resources (PHR) - HR Certification Institute (HRCI ), SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) - SHRM
