Job Summary:
J.B. Hunt is building an entirely new platform to enable their internal and external potential. This opportunity is for a Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) Engineer who will be involved in the design, implementation, and support of Enterprise Analytics solutions. These solutions include the continuous development, integration, delivery, and training of Machine Learning and Optimization systems. You will collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, business intelligence analysts, and product teams to deliver predictive and prescriptive solutions that have significant impact on our logistics services. The position applies some advanced programming techniques and concepts during the solution design and development.
Job Description:
** $10,000 Sign-On Bonus for qualified new hires! ** (Must be working directly with a J.B. Hunt Recruiter and not through a 3rd party to qualify) Key Responsibilities: • Helps lead software development efforts in an Agile development environment, daily stand ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives, and sprint demos • Implements complex analytics systems that involve configuration, automation, data collection, testing, debugging, serving, and monitoring. • Helps lead team members in executing continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) activities to release code into a Production environment • Promotes a practice of unifying system development (Dev) and system operations (Ops). • Acts as a consultant within the Enterprise Analytics team on software engineering principles, code quality, and performance optimization techniques • Uses industry best practices such as code reviews, pull requests, and peer testing to ensure high quality deliverables • Builds model performance monitoring capabilities and facilitates resolution of issues with the appropriate team • Documents work to provide clear narrative of a product's functionality. • Works within a collaborative environment and contributes to team goals by offering open and honest communication and helping to meet deadlines • Help lead analysis and design tasks with the Agile team using software development lifecycle concepts
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Information Systems or Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, Mathematics, Statistics or related field, or foreign equivalent, or suitable combination of education, experience and training; • plus 3 years of experience in Software Development or Computer Engineering or related field using technologies such as: Python, SQL, and Java. • Experience in containerization and orchestration (such as Docker, Kubernetes) • Experience in ML model development, orchestration, deployment, monitoring, & support • Experience building batch and/or real-time data & ML pipelines • Familiarity with MLflow or similar platforms like Kubeflow or SageMaker.
Preferred Qualifications: 4-5 years of experience in Software Development or Computer Engineering or related field using technologies such as: Python, SQL, Java, and Airflow • Experience creating and maintaining deployment pipelines with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other cloud providers
