Job Summary:
Under general direction, this position  leads a team with complete ownership and management of an assigned market or region. Team duties include, but are not limited to: customer service, equipment utilization, capacity management, profitability, and demand forecasting

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the direct management and development/implementation of actionable support plans to be utilized by Customer Experience team to effectively solicit, enter, operate and follow up on each customer’s freight that meets all truck and intermodal pricing and operating expectations

• Establish Capacity Surge Agreements as needed to manage customer surge requirements

• Monitor ramp and/or market balance, raise flags to yield management and pricing on areas that need additional volume

• Responsible for reporting intermodal or truckload daily counts and/or demand forecasting. Monitor intermodal or truckload key performance indicators and developing solutions to addressing needs

• Plan and maintain empty assists to ensure there are enough containers and/or trailers available to fulfill capacity

• Approve all surges, ensuring that capacity is available at both origin and destination

• Use root cause analysis to identify service issues. Collaborate with customer experience and sales to recommend solutions to resolve all service issues. Work with internal personnel to effectively manage capacity and respond to freight opportunities as needed

• Support and work across the enterprise to prioritize customers and ensure we improve and retain our current business, provide internal support and help deliver quality results for customer base

• Work with other business operations to review new opportunities and current business to best leverage J.B. Hunt’s intermodal and/or truckload capacity while bringing deliverable solutions to all

• Serve as internal support developing strong relationships with key operations personnel to effectively respond to and provide integrated capacity solutions to customer accounts


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED with 3-4 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree with 1 year of relevant professional experience or 4-5 years of experience in the Transportation/Logistics industry
Knowledge of the J.B. Hunt's industry group, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters
Accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment
Proven effective communication skills including coaching others on improving their own communication methods and techniques
Understanding of the importance of remaining aware of shifting market priorities and ability to respond to internal and external customer needs in a manner that consistently adds value
Ability to select and assertively communicate actions and activities that maximize organization performance
Knowledge of business metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ability to use strategies and tools for defining and measuring progress toward goals
Knowledge of available internal and external learning resources and ability to address learning, training, and career development needs of individuals, teams or organization
Ability to form and manage effective teams.
