Job Summary:
Our Talent Development team is seeking a strategic, people-focused leader for our Talent Development Operations team. This individual will be responsible for carrying out and overseeing day-to-day delivery of Talent Development programs and services aligned to talent development operations. The incumbent directs team members assigned to their functional area and collaborates with HR Business Partners, business stakeholders and HR Operations to respond to business and/or employee needs. This role will manage a team of first level managers of people and higher-level individual contributors as we drive business success through training.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee talent development programs and experiences to meet company/individual needs, requirements and learning objectives
  • Oversee talent development policies and programs based on identified training needs, business processes, systems, or changes in products, procedures, or services
  • Support M&A activity by developing, refreshing and maintaining a knowledge base for acquisition new hires
  • Oversee and provide guidance on coaching/mentorship framework supporting leadership development initiatives
  • Collaborate with business leaders and managers to understand business goals, to identify specific knowledge, skills and abilities needed for the teams, and to help develop a proper talent development solution to deliver on the business needs
  • Oversee the delivery of regulatory & compliance, technical and professional training, or the talent development operations support
  • Drive the improvement of existing Talent Development programs and processes and collaborate with HRBPs and other stakeholders to review and secure feedback
  • Ensure talent development procedures are compliant with law (state and federal) and company policy
  • Serve as talent development subject matter expert to provide research, thought leadership, best practices, trends and/or statistics
  • Provide guidance for the Talent Development team on projects related to learning and development
  • Manage talent development staff focused on developing internal talent on the use of J.B. Hunt systems and processes and systems
  • Administer individual and team performance metrics; managing staff and monitoring individual performance and development
  • Assess the capabilities and workload of the Talent Development team to determine the best utilization of resources to meet the business needs
  • Partner with other internal departments, business units and senior management to ensure the effective implementation of talent development policies
  • Collaborate as needed with HR Centers of Expertise and HR Operations to ensure that Talent Development core services are delivered effectively and efficiently
  • Assist with developing budget and projections for Talent Development solutions, managing the budget/investments, analyzing ROI and impact against business priorities
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business/Business Management, Communications, or related field, with 7 years related experience; or 10+ years combined relevant experience, education or training
  • 5 years of related experience plus 2 years of management experience or equivalent combination of education, experience and training

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Business/Business Management, Communications, or a related field of study, with 5 or more years of organizational development-related experience, education, and training
  • 3 or more years management experience in a talent management function within a for-profit organization
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and peers
  • Ability to maintain composure
  • Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities
  • Ability to think out of the box and get buy-in from Business, etc.
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment
  • Demonstrated critical and system thinking skills
  • Experience leading and developing Talent Development, Learning and/or Organizational Development projects and/or programs
  • Experience with learning, training and organizational development or design in a consulting capacity
  • Interpersonal or “people” skills
  • Listening skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Proficient in Office 365 tools such as PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Strong communication skills with demonstrated experience interacting with Senior Level leadership

Masters: Business Administration/Management, Masters: Communications Studies/Speech Communication and Rhetoric, GED (Required), High School (Required), Bachelors: Human Resources Management
