Job Summary:
Under administrative direction, the incumbent is responsible for some account ownership and directing the overall activities of a branch or business group to maintain growth targets and profitability, develop and grow our employees, and build and foster cross-divisional influence and external relationships to provide a best-in-class customer experience.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote operational efficiency by collaborating with internal groups to gain insight on how to successfully ship cargo in the most cost-efficient manner
  • Interface with internal support to implement service procedures and expedite cargo in a timely manner
  • Report essential financial and operational information to senior management to participate in the development of long-range operational plans and business initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., customer service, operations, etc.) to proactively identify innovative logistic solutions enhancing service quality, productivity, and profitability for potential and existing customers •
  • Facilitate regular carrier audits to review performance and develop solutions for chronic issues (e.g., delayed shipments, damaged freight, etc.) that affect service quality
  • Hire, train and develop staff to meet goals and objectives in regards to customer satisfaction, sales, and operations to ensure superior, on-time service for customers.
  • Drive gateway and mode neutral strategies across multiple teams to grow network, profitability, agent relationships, and global forwarding growth

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualification:

  • High School Diploma/GED with 5 or more years of experience in Transportation/Logistics, with 2 or more of those years in business administration or brokerage.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 5 or more years of experience in Transportation/Logistics, with 4 or more of those years in business administration or brokerage; Comprehensive knowledge of language of the country in which the position resides; posses a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record as per JBH standards
  • 8 or more years of relevant professional experience or 3-4 years of experience in the global forwarding
  • U.S. customs or brokerage industry with 3-4 years of supervisory experience; individual owned customs brokerage license highly preferred
  • Knowledge and experience of international air cargo (IAC), IATA, global freight forwarding, gateway operations management, air freight customs and compliance
  • Knowledge of finance and accounting practices, financial analysis, and reporting
  • Knowledge of major functional processes and associated operating requirements and the ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations
  • Ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment
  • Ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization
  • Applies strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives
  • Ability to drive critical activities to completion
  • Demonstrates the ability to develop an organizational culture that promotes the highest level of ethical standards and responsibility to the community
  • Applies organizational acumen to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization
  • Uses expertise to coach, mentor and challenge others both inside and outside the organization
  • Experience in establishing best practices for selling strategies for large or important customers.
