Job Summary:
Under routine supervision, this position provides key support for the safety/compliance group providing indirect leadership and guidance to team members. This position is responsible for performance of a wide variety of specialized administrative functions involving compiling and arranging documents for compliance, making computations, maintaining necessary documentation for internal or governmental regulations, processing and coding documents, and communicating with internal and external teams to ensure onboarding processes are completed.   

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compose pertinent electronic documentation for safety and compliance personnel using internal and external systems required for Company policies and DOT regulations
  • Team subject matter expert on specialized regulatory bodies including providing interpretation for junior team members
  • Indirect management of work processes including ensuring task completion, mentorship, and escalated issue resolution for all team members
  • Gather and maintain all required DOT and Company paperwork for applicants using multiple systems ensuring DOT requirements are met post hire
  • Communicate with Driver Personnel, Safety, Operations and the driver to ensure all onboarding process are completed
  • Review documentation, audit files, and solve complex problems--driver qualification, hours of service, DOT Regulations, interpretation and informed regulation decision
  • Maintain necessary documentation for internal or governmental regulations and standards; provide documentation to internal or external auditors as needed
  • Coordinate with managers and/or drivers in the field by phone or email to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and certifications

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent with 1-3 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in mentoring and management preferred
  • Communication skills
  • Experience in the transportation industry
  • Knowledge of DOT Regulations and Company Policy
  • Knowledge of J.B. Hunt
  • Knowledge of the safe operation of tractor-trailer equipment
  • Willingness to lead and direct others.
