Job Summary:
Under routine supervision, this position will be responsible for various federal/state/local operating tax compliance in accordance with regulations and as directed by management.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities: - Compile tax data and provide reports to management or independent contractors; respond to questions raised by clients
- Utilize financial systems to support senior team members with tax reviews, adjustments, and/or journal entries
- Perform balance sheet and P&L reconciliations; conduct research in financial reporting systems to identify abnormalities
- Research appropriate federal, state and local tax regulations and obligations
- Preparation and/or filing of appropriate tax forms and instruments for filing with federal, state and local jurisdictions
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field, or foreign equivalent or suitable combination of education, experience and training in a related field
Preferred Qualifications: - Up to 1 year relevant tax experience
- Ability to exercise discretion
- Ability to maintain professionalism while dealing with difficult individuals
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to work both individually and as a team
- Basic deductive reasoning skills
- Experience in Excel, Vertex Sales Tax, Access, and Alteryx
- Knowledge of financials
- Proficient time management skills
- Self-motivated
