Shelley Simpson, chief commercial officer and executive vice president of people and human resources, was recently recognized by two industry-leading organizations for her commitment to inclusion at J.B. Hunt, and for her leadership in the transportation and logistics industry.
Shelley was named one of the Top 50 HR Professionals by the National Diversity Council, which honors HR professionals who are changemakers in the area of diversity and inclusion. She was also named one of Supply Chain Digital Magazine’s Top 100 Women in Supply Chain, which recognizes women in the transportation and logistics industry for their dedication, vision and inspirational leadership.

She pioneered three company employee resource groups (ERGs) – Growing and Retaining Outstanding Women (GROW); Latinos Engaging, Advancing and Developing (LEAD); and PLUS(+) (LGBTQIA+). Our ERGs welcome the ideas and foster the interests of all company employees, regardless of race, sexual orientation or gender. ERGs provide opportunities for J.B. Hunt employees to get involved and make connections that drive personal and professional development.

Since joining J.B. Hunt as an hourly Customer Service Representative more than 26 years ago, Shelley has held multiple senior-level positions in business segments across the company.
Today, as Chief Commercial Officer, Shelley leads the strategic direction of Sales, Customer Experience, International Services, Marketing and external product development, including J.B. Hunt 360°®, our technology platform for freight matching and operational efficiency. As EVP of People & Human Resources, Shelley leads J.B. Hunt’s efforts to create a more inclusive culture and work environment.
