Job Summary:
J.B. Hunt is looking for an Air Cargo Training and Compliance Manager to join our Global Forwarding Team. Under general direction, this position is responsible for onboarding and training new members of the Air Freight Team. The incumbent will also be expected to monitor and maintain air freight safety and customs compliance. The Air Freight Training & Compliance Manager will be a part of the new station set-up and integration team working remotely. Travel is required for 25-50% of the time to Domestically located stations.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Train locally hired staff for operation of the cargo operating system
  • Train the local management on TSA security functions
  • Provide step-by-step instruction on J.B. Hunt policies and operating procedures
  • Conduct compliance audits and document findings to Sr. Leadership
  • Conduct Dangerous Goods knowledge & acceptance training certification
  • Set-up records keeping for each location and ensure the team fully understands compliance procedures
  • Instruct the local teams on governmental policies such as CBP, FAA, TSA, DOT, FMC, OSHA, Agriculture, etc.
  • Conduct forklift certification classes
  • Instruct local teams on OSHA forms and functions regarding safety and wellbeing of all employees
  • Assist in constructing the Air Cargo Operations Manual
  • Put together an effective training program combining CBT’s and PowerPoint presentations
  • Set up each station with the appropriate training records & retention standards


Qualifications:
  • Able to travel 25% - 50% domestically.  Some Intl travel may be required
  • Computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office tools, intermediate level in Excel)
  • Highly organized, project management tools and expertise
  • Analytical skills, detailed oriented and timeline driven
  • Mentor & team builder who encourages inclusivity, entrepreneurial mindset and the ability improvise, adapt and overcome obstacles 
  • Excellent communication skill set and effective training leadership
  • Knowledge of regulatory bodies and their expectations
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • Knowledge of dock equipment and operation 

Minimum Qualification:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent with more than 10 years of professional experience training in freight forwarding, air cargo & ocean operations and at least 10 years of leadership experience in a professional setting 
  • Must be able to pass a TSA security screening process

Preferred Qualification:

  • Bachelors Degree with 5-10 years of professional experience training in freight forwarding, air cargo & ocean operations and up to 10 years of leadership experience in a professional setting
  • Knowledge of Dangerous Goods

Bachelors: Logistics Management, Bachelors: Supply Chain Management, High School (Required), Bachelors: Transportation Logistics, GED (Required)
