Job Summary:
Under close supervision, this position is responsible for gaining foundational knowledge of tools, equipment, shop safety, and J.B. Hunt Shop rules, policies, and procedures. The incumbent will learn to become efficient in, but not limit to, Air Break Systems and FHWA Inspections and the general repairs associated with them. This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends in addition to overtime; it requires full-time attendance.  

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shadow a more seniored team member to learn to perform repairs to company and manufacturer's specifications complete work orders, and train to be efficient in company requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines Understand and effectively follow all shop safety procedures
  • Maintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers at all times
  • Train to become efficient in routine preventative maintenance, replacement of parts/components, basic repair as it pertains to air brake systems and FHWA Inspections

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • AND Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences
  • Able to supply your own basic tools, or purchase through our toolbox purchase program
  • Willingness to work outdoors in the elements
  • Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends if needed


Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediums
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team 
  • Proficient computer skills and/or comfortable working with a computer, including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to use time and resources efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 50 pounds)
  • Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE)

Compensation:
Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.

Benefits:
The Company offers the following benefits for full-time positions, subject to applicable eligibility requirements, as may be in effect from time to time: medical benefit, dental benefit, vision benefit, 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability coverage, paid time off commensurate with tenure (includes vacation and sick time), six weeks of paid maternity leave along with two weeks of paid parental leave, and six paid holidays annually.
