Let’s meet some of the people that have played a part in helping make Intermodal the powerhouse that it is today.
Meet Astrid
In 1991, Astrid began her career at J.B. Hunt as an over-the-road driver. The following year, she transitioned into the intermodal sector, working in both Chicago and at our corporate headquarters in Northwest Arkansas. In 2006, she became one of the first female directors in our Intermodal business unit and has since played a pivotal role in helping our team establish itself as a top performer in the industry.
Astrid has been with J.B. Hunt Intermodal almost from the start, witnessing firsthand how our team has worked together to move customers’ freight for over 30 years. The people she has worked alongside are the foundation of our success, dedicating themselves not only to building a service that better serves our customers, but to helping employees establish lasting careers with the company.

Meet Tyler
Tyler began his career at J.B. Hunt in 2012 and has since held various roles within the company. He now serves as a director on our innovative maintenance team. While the team supports equipment across all business units, Intermodal is the largest segment, requiring the majority of their time and attention.
Our maintenance teams are known for ensuring a safe and ready fleet at all times, reducing breakdowns on the road, maximizing equipment utilization and delivering more reliable service for our customers. As a result, we believe J.B. Hunt is the top company for maintenance technicians, offering numerous opportunities to develop new skills, build lasting friendships and establish a rewarding career with a company that constantly pushes the envelope.
Collaborating with experienced technicians and maintenance professionals has enabled Tyler, along with many others, to create career-defining opportunities. He has contributed to developing designs that have significantly enhanced the company’s processes, driving overall improvements. This hands-on experience has equipped Tyler with the knowledge and expertise needed for promotion within J.B. Hunt, allowing him to build the career he wants.

Meet Monica
With nearly nine years at J.B. Hunt, Monica has gained experience across almost every business unit at the company, building valuable networks and deepening her industry knowledge with each role. Her current position on one of our intermodal customer experience teams has highlighted the uniqueness of our intermodal services and how they differentiate us from our competitors. Ultimately, it’s our people who make us who we are.
Some of our most tenured and knowledgeable employees work in Intermodal and have been a great resource for people to learn about the business. The amount of history, hard work and respect that everyone has for each other creates an exciting work environment for people to thrive in and work with the nation’s largest multimodal carrier.
