A Culture of Veteran Support

Through collaboration with non-profit organizations that provide financial assistance and job placements and support of groups that honor veterans like Wreaths Across America, we can do our part to recognize their service. We encourage veterans to join our employee resource groups, including our Veteran Employee Resource Group, VERG, that can help bring them community and understanding while at work.
Military Leave and Transition Assistance
As a service member, you should be able to handle all military responsibilities without having to worry about your job. We provide our active-duty military members with a deployment and reentry guide, a full-service Military Leave Concierge Service, make-whole and differential pay options and more. When you have unique needs as a service member, we think you deserve unique solutions and modern programs that ease these transitions for you and your family.

We are proud to be a military-friendly employer and one of the ways we uphold that commitment is by participating in the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program. SkillBridge offers service members and their spouses the opportunity to gain civilian work experience through industry training, apprenticeships or internships while still on active duty.
We have SkillBridge opportunities with J.B. Hunt available across the country and on a variety of teams from operations, equipment maintenance, driving jobs and beyond. We are proud to be a part of this program that gives participants the opportunity to make connections, use the skills and expertise gained in the military and get a head start on a lasting civilian career.
Driver Apprenticeship Program
Looking for a career behind the wheel? We are committed to getting veterans into the job that best uses the skills they gained during their service. There are a few ways veterans can join the J.B. Hunt team as truck drivers, including through our Apprenticeship Program or transferable military experience. Those with a Class A license can receive paid on-the-job training that will transition into a full-time position through our Apprenticeship Program.
Those who have military driving experience and the appropriate documentation from their time in the service may be eligible for 100% of time served to count toward the Class A driving experience they need to join our fleet. Your experience is valued at J.B. Hunt.
