Meet Lisa H. – Transportation Manager II
After graduating college, Lisa wasn’t sure where she wanted to start her career and what she wanted to do. She did know two things: she wanted to work at a company where she mattered and where she wasn’t just a number. Since day one, J.B. Hunt has made her feel important.
Lisa’s mother was also a vital part of recruiting her to become a part of the J.B. Hunt scroll. Her mother was also an employee with the company and loved her job. Watching her mom have work-life balance and look forward to her job made Lisa excited to join the team.
As a transportation manager, Lisa works closely with a large fleet of drivers as well as many internal people at the company. Being close to her teammates in the field strengthens their bond, and creates an environment where everyone can succeed. “I think that we all have the ability to be personable with each other one-on-one and not just be business only. That allows for us to be able to get the job done because we truly care about what’s going on with each other.”
Meet Eric – Sr. Manager, Operations
Ten years ago, Eric made his career move to J.B. Hunt at the recommendation of a friend and because he knew our reputation as a leader in the world of transportation and logistics.
A perk of J.B. Hunt that Eric got to experience firsthand was the ample growth opportunities. During his time with us, Eric has grown his career from an entry-level manager position to a senior level operations manager in our Intermodal business unit.
On top of the many growth opportunities, Eric says that the people are the strongest part of J.B. Hunt. “Whether you’re working together in the field or at corporate headquarters in Lowell, everyone here is working together, with all different backgrounds, all different groups, all different locations coming together, working together for a common goal.”
Meet Lisa B. – Sr. Parts Technician
After being a technician in the transportation industry for over 20 years, Lisa made the move to J.B. Hunt and sees herself being here for the rest of her career. “My favorite thing about working here is that your voice is heard, no matter who you are. No matter what level you are.”
Being located outside of our corporate office has also helped Lisa take a major step forward in her career. After her long technician career at another company, she has discovered that working in the field doesn’t hinder the connections made, career advancement or support and allows you to learn and work with all parts of the business. People in these roles are often located close to the customers they serve, which allows our people, our customers and our business to thrive.
