2021 was a big year for J.B. Hunt! This year, we celebrated our 60th anniversary, honoring our storied history of innovation while looking ahead to the success and growth to come. Our people keep us moving, and J.B. Hunt would not be the company we are today without the hard work and support of all employees, on and off the road.
From celebrating major milestones to driving organizational change, a lot happened this year. Today, we’re looking back on a few of the big moments that took place this year for J.B. Hunt in office jobs.
Growing and Developing Our Team
2021 was a year full of career opportunities at J.B. Hunt, with many office jobs available at our corporate campus in Northwest Arkansas and field locations across the nation. In fact, with so many available opportunities, from equipment maintenance positions to engineering and technology jobs, came a record-breaking year for J.B. Hunt hiring.
This year, we welcomed over 3,500 new hires into the J.B. Hunt family and promoted over 1,300 J.B. Hunt employees into new roles. That’s moving nearly 5,000 careers forward over the span of one year!

New Careers Website and Blog
Our company Careers website got a fresh new look to better support job seekers who are interested in joining our company. The new website details the many career opportunities available at J.B. Hunt, and the benefits of building your career with us. You can also learn more about our Inclusion initiatives, military commitment, environmental sustainability efforts and the perks of working at J.B. Hunt.
For those interested in keeping up with everything going on at J.B. Hunt, you’re in the right place! In February, we launched this blog, The Scroll, to provide an in-depth look at who we are as a company, highlighting important events, talent development opportunities and employee support programs, like our employee resource groups (ERGs), that are available and a benefit to all employees.
Continued Commitment to Inclusion
According to results from an employee engagement survey conducted this year, J.B. Hunt employees scored the company high when it came to feeling included and respected in the workplace. We’re proud to be a workplace where all employees feel welcomed and supported, however we feel that there’s still more work to be done, and we’re in it for the long haul.
This year, J.B. Hunt created a dedicated Inclusion team to lead the overall direction and strategy to ensure we keep inclusion as a big part of our business decisions. This new team already has big ideas for how to continue inclusive hiring and advance inclusion initiatives at our company. Upgrades to Employee Benefits
Earlier this year, we announced some major upgrades to our employee benefits. Being able to provide for yourself and your family is important, which is why new hires no longer have to wait 90 days for benefit coverage to kick in. Employees hired after April 2021 are eligible to enroll in health insurance coverage, health savings accounts and flex spending accounts after just 30 days of employment.
At J.B. Hunt, we strive to provide for our employees as best we can, offering benefits ranging from competitive medical benefits and a company-matched 401(k) program, to basic life insurance and parental leave options. We’re excited to add additional employee benefits, like mental health resources, that we plan to roll out in 2022.
